About

Hamish is the solo project of Andrew Hutcheson of progressive rock outfit Rocket Chic. Originally hailing from Glasgow, Scotland. Andrew’s travels have taken him to France, New Orleans, San Diego, and finally Los Angeles where he is based. His family is well recognized throughout the UK as a “musical family” and at one time had 3 different family bands practicing in 3 different rooms at the same time. Needless to say, music and expression through music is in his soul.

My Life So Far ; is born out of the tragic deaths of Andrew’s mother, followed by his father shortly thereafter, and most recently his only brother. He needed to write, he needed to sing, and he felt that he couldn’t wait anymore. The songs deal with loss, grief, illness, hope, and rebirth. The message is clear, everything that we have all done up to now, is our life SO FAR; there is no period at the end of that sentence, there is more to write. Hamish is here to show that no matter what, if you have passion and desire, you can do what you want and need to do, and you should do it now! There is heart, soul, and belief behind every lyric and the emotion can be felt in the heartfelt tone and words.

This record, is meant to be an inspiration, to scream out for yourself and those you love.

Vision:

The idea of Hamish was to inspire art and invention, no matter where you are from, how old you are or young, or anything else that might make you think you "can't" do it. I wanted everyone to feel welcome and allow themselves to be vulnerable and open, by witnessing openness and vulnerability. Happiness is not a pursuit, it is a way of life. And while things might not always be perfect, there will always be a place for everyone to connect. If one person writes a poem, paints a picture, asks for a promotion, or smiles or cries. Then Hamish has done what is supposed to do.
